Don't Only Blame Pelosi

200th post

According to Wikipedia, so far, the 110th Congress has passed only three bills.

This is why Congress's approval rating is below the President.

It's not only Pelosi's fault nothing is being accomplished. You can blame the Republicans for stopping them too. Congress is too divided to get anything done. There will be no major accomplishments by the United States until after Bush is out of office and there are new congressmen and -women.

But if you look at a recent Harris Poll, Pelosi (34%) and Democrats in Congress (31%) are rated higher than Bush (26%), Congress as a whole (24%), and Republicans in Congress (21%). However, Reid the lowest rated at 20%.

Hmm. That's interesting, but I remember another polling service having Congress's approval rating around 8%.

I read on CQ Politics, though, that they've already held more votes in half a year than the Rep-controlled Congress did during the entire 2006 session. So it's not as if they're not trying. I guess that's just the reality of the situation.

I haven't seen that statistic, but it would make sense. Congress is so evenly split, you can't really blame only Pelosi for not getting anything done.

By the way, thank you both Thomas and Andy for the comments.
